Spooky Season
Over at Posh Gecko we don’t like to waste a moment. So whenever clients are dragging their heels reviewing our work or we catch one of those annoying between times where it’s too short a time to get stuck into a project, but too much time to sit around doing nothing, we like to get creative.
Reducing waste in the creative process
When pitching ideas for character designs and animation styles to our clients, we often come up with several concepts at a time. That way we can make sure our clients are getting animations that are perfect for them and their brand, not just the first thing we can think of. That does however, mean there are plenty of exciting styles and characters that are too off the wall for clients, but end up on the shelf.
Sometimes we rework and recycle these and send them out to other clients. After all, one client’s trash is another client’s treasure. Other times, the stars align these shelved ideas go hand in hand with the time of year and certain spooky season loving animators catch a bit of spare time.
So I got the chance to put together this little animation to let our social media followers know that we’re celebrating halloween. The character designs and style are inspired by the classic Betty Boop and Disney cartoons that used to give me chills.
