Children's Explainer Videos
Despite being a full service animation and video production agency, at Posh Gecko we're known for our explainer videos above anything else. They're what we get asked for the most, but these videos are largely corporate and lean toward B2B. So when Cardiomyopathy UK approached us with a script for a kids explainer video, with a focus on explaining the condition to young cardiomyopathy sufferers, I was very excited to create some kid-friendly characters to very gently explain this serious topic to children.
Characterful Animation
After coming up with and refining a couple of character designs and style frames to establish the overall look of the video, I went to work separating the script into line-by-line segments and storyboarding to that set narrative, animating segments for demonstration purposes as I went along. These scene range from simple character-focused, icon-focused scenes and diagrammatic scenes to complex sections including our heart character riding a bike, playing tennis and eating breakfast with its human counterpart.
There were minor tweaks at every step, but the process went very smoothly, the client and I - and the intermediaries that stand between us - seemed to be on the same page throughout.
